Lane choices behind the labels
Gold lane: Claude and Karrie
Do you need space to keep attacking, or a way to reach the enemy backline? A low aggregate tier does not tell you which of those jobs your draft lacks.
Gold carries need a protected damage window. Check the enemy dive and your own frontline before treating a tier label as a reason to lock in.
Mechanic to compare: Karrie’s Lightwheel Mark is the part of her kit that bypasses defense. That does not make every basic attack or item effect true damage. Against a durable frontline, plan for repeated contact; against a diver who reaches you first, that damage pattern may not have time to work. Public Karrie reference.
EXP lane: Terizla and Yu Zhong
Does your team need to hold an objective entrance, or threaten the enemy damage dealers from another angle? Compare that job before copying a fighter build.
The old Terizla and Lapu-Lapu cards recommended Bloodlust Axe. Those loadouts have been withdrawn: do not search the current shop for a retired item or replace it one-for-one without checking the current item effects.
Mechanic to compare: Terizla’s Execution Strike is a sequence of swings, while Penalty Zone helps keep enemies in his fighting area. If the opponent can leave before the sequence connects, a theoretical full-combo result is a poor guide to that lane. Public Terizla reference.
Mid lane: Pharsa and Zhuxin
How will your mage contribute once Turtle or Lord is contested: damage from range or control of an approach? Also check who protects the mage when the enemy comes from behind.
The previous homepage put Pharsa below the dedicated tier page without a documented rank or patch distinction. That contradictory ranking is withdrawn; the source labels here use one snapshot.
Mechanic to compare: Pharsa’s Feathered Air Strike lets her threaten an objective approach from range. Before beginning the barrage, account for the enemy flanker and leave an exit; her reach does not mean her casting position is safe. Public Pharsa reference.
Jungle: Julian and Nolan
Can your team hold space around the objective while you position to contest it? Hero durability alone does not guarantee a Retribution secure.
Do not draft Nolan on the assumption that his ultimate removes crowd control. Reviewed public descriptions conflict with patch-history reports; a current cleanse is not established here. The former self-purify claim is withdrawn.
Mechanic to compare: Julian’s enhanced skill depends on the order of his preceding skills. Enhanced Chain provides an area-control finish; Enhanced Sword serves a different movement purpose. Decide the finish before spending the setup skills, rather than repeating a damage sequence when your team needs control. Public Julian reference.
Roam: Minotaur and Tigreal
Do you need to start the fight or answer an enemy engage? Check whether the damage dealers can follow the initiation before choosing a tank from a high tier.
Against Tigreal or Atlas, the separate counter guide explains the Diggie response and its positioning limits. A control answer fills a different job from a frontline initiator.
Mechanic to compare: Diggie’s Time Journey supplies nearby allies with control protection. It is useful against an engage only if the threatened ally is within reach and the spell is available. It does not give the team a replacement frontliner. ONE Esports’ Diggie explanation.
