MLBB Tier List: Source Labels & Role Choices

The old S41 S+ recommendations on this page were not supported well enough to keep recommending them. Below is a dated comparison of ten familiar picks using one public tracker, followed by the draft questions that a tier label cannot answer.

Read the version boundary: MLBBHub now labels its page S42 / Patch 2.2.16, but its analysis says the quoted ranked figures come from the final S41 week. These are observed website labels, not a verified post-patch ranking, an Epic/Legend recommendation, or official MOONTON statistics.

Lane choices behind the labels

Gold lane: Claude and Karrie

Do you need space to keep attacking, or a way to reach the enemy backline? A low aggregate tier does not tell you which of those jobs your draft lacks.

Gold carries need a protected damage window. Check the enemy dive and your own frontline before treating a tier label as a reason to lock in.

Mechanic to compare: Karrie’s Lightwheel Mark is the part of her kit that bypasses defense. That does not make every basic attack or item effect true damage. Against a durable frontline, plan for repeated contact; against a diver who reaches you first, that damage pattern may not have time to work. Public Karrie reference.

EXP lane: Terizla and Yu Zhong

Does your team need to hold an objective entrance, or threaten the enemy damage dealers from another angle? Compare that job before copying a fighter build.

The old Terizla and Lapu-Lapu cards recommended Bloodlust Axe. Those loadouts have been withdrawn: do not search the current shop for a retired item or replace it one-for-one without checking the current item effects.

Mechanic to compare: Terizla’s Execution Strike is a sequence of swings, while Penalty Zone helps keep enemies in his fighting area. If the opponent can leave before the sequence connects, a theoretical full-combo result is a poor guide to that lane. Public Terizla reference.

Mid lane: Pharsa and Zhuxin

How will your mage contribute once Turtle or Lord is contested: damage from range or control of an approach? Also check who protects the mage when the enemy comes from behind.

The previous homepage put Pharsa below the dedicated tier page without a documented rank or patch distinction. That contradictory ranking is withdrawn; the source labels here use one snapshot.

Mechanic to compare: Pharsa’s Feathered Air Strike lets her threaten an objective approach from range. Before beginning the barrage, account for the enemy flanker and leave an exit; her reach does not mean her casting position is safe. Public Pharsa reference.

Jungle: Julian and Nolan

Can your team hold space around the objective while you position to contest it? Hero durability alone does not guarantee a Retribution secure.

Do not draft Nolan on the assumption that his ultimate removes crowd control. Reviewed public descriptions conflict with patch-history reports; a current cleanse is not established here. The former self-purify claim is withdrawn.

Mechanic to compare: Julian’s enhanced skill depends on the order of his preceding skills. Enhanced Chain provides an area-control finish; Enhanced Sword serves a different movement purpose. Decide the finish before spending the setup skills, rather than repeating a damage sequence when your team needs control. Public Julian reference.

Roam: Minotaur and Tigreal

Do you need to start the fight or answer an enemy engage? Check whether the damage dealers can follow the initiation before choosing a tank from a high tier.

Against Tigreal or Atlas, the separate counter guide explains the Diggie response and its positioning limits. A control answer fills a different job from a frontline initiator.

Mechanic to compare: Diggie’s Time Journey supplies nearby allies with control protection. It is useful against an engage only if the threatened ally is within reach and the spell is available. It does not give the team a replacement frontliner. ONE Esports’ Diggie explanation.

All Ranks is not your rank bracket

The table preserves the source’s All Ranks setting. We have not derived a separate Epic, Legend or Mythic+ tier list from it. A hero’s appearance in an aggregate list does not establish how often it succeeds in your bracket.

  1. Match the lane first. A roam response to a marksman is not a replacement gold-lane pick. Use the counter finder’s enemy-lane filter and read the response role on its card.
  2. Match the queue. If a plan needs an ally to follow your control, agree on that follow-up before locking it in. In a solo queue, do not assume the coordination shown in a professional match.
  3. Match the patch. Keep a saved S41 list separate from the live client. The 2.1.95a notes explain that historical patch; they do not prove a hero’s strength after the seasonal update.
Verification notes

MLBBHub tier grid and current-meta explanation: single-source, dated labels only. The mixed season/data-window wording is why this page does not adopt the tracker’s “must pick” claim. The ten selected heroes are a comparison, not the full roster. No win rates, ban rates, private telemetry, or site-run gameplay tests are claimed.

June 2024 equipment-change report: records the Bloodlust Axe / War Axe merger. The previous fixed loadouts are removed rather than silently relabeled as current builds.

Still unresolved: a defensible S41 rank-by-rank ranking, and a settled post-2.2.16 ranking. The linked role notes are limited public mechanism references, not a source of new tier scores. The old claim that this site combined MPL observations with high-Mythic telemetry is withdrawn because no supporting dataset or match log was retained.

Tier list questions

Which hero should I pick from this table?

Use the source label as one input, then choose the lane and job your team needs. It is not a universal pick order. The matchup guide is more useful when the opponent has already picked.

Why are the previous S41 rankings different?

The old page presented editorial S+ scores without enough traceable support and disagreed with the homepage. This revision withdraws those scores and identifies exactly which public labels are being shown instead.

Does an S tier guarantee a strong S42 pick?

No. A source’s current season heading does not prove that its observations were collected after the patch. This page explicitly flags that mismatch.

Learning Hirara’s unusual inputs? Read the two-skill combo and charge-planning guide. It explains the mechanism without assigning a new tier score.
